The external pageKUSOED was established in 1997 with the aim of enhancing the quality of education in the country. To this end, it provides high-quality teacher training programs for all education levels and plays an instrumental role in developing teacher educators, educational leaders, development professionals and researchers who can contribute to the social transformation of the country.

Prof. Dr. Mahesh Nath Parajuli

Mahesh Nath Parajuli is the Dean and a Professor of the School of Education of Kathmandu University. He holds a master's degree in Geography of the Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal and an MSc degree in Rural and Regional Development Planning from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand. He gained his PhD in Education at the Danish University of Education in Copenhagen, Denmark. The title of his doctoral thesis is: "The state, the school and the society: Dilemmas and Crises in Education in Nepal".

Since 2013, he is the General Secretary of the Comparative Education Society of Nepal (CESON) and since 2014 a board member of the Comparative Education Society of Asia (CESA). Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Education Research, a publication of Kathmandu University, he has published several articles in different journals and in edited books.

MPhil Durga Prasad Baral

Durga Prasad Baral is a researcher and PhD candidate at the Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED). Mr. Baral has acquired two university degrees: a Masters in Civil Engineering from the Kiev Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers (at present known as National Aviation University) Kiev, Ukraine, and an MPhil in Educational Leadership from the Kathmandu University, Nepal. He has more than 20 years of work experience in the sector of TVET of Nepal including at the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT). Mr. Baral’s research interests include educational leadership, technical and vocational education and training, as well as entrepreneurship development.

MPhil Prakash Kumar Paudel

Prakash Kumar Paudel is a researcher and PhD candidate at the Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED). He acquired MPhil in Development Studies from KUSOED and also earned his Master Degree in Social Science from Tribhuvan University (TU). He has published his research based articles and book chapter in national and international peer reviewed journals. He has worked for government, non-government and international organizations as a researcher over a half decade. Mr. Paudel’s research interest areas include development education, technical and vocational education and training, as well as labour migration.

MENUKA SANGROULA

Ms. Menuka Sangroula is an MTVET scholar at Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED). She has undertaken the position of Research Assistant under LELAM project from May, 2023. Her thesis is entitled “Effect of Nurses’ Perceived Organizational Support on their Organizational Commitment”.
Ms. Sangroula is a registered nurse and holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. She has more than 5 years of experiences in nursing field at both operational and supervisory positions. Prior to joining KUSOED, she was a Departmental Nursing In-charge in a 300-bedded private hospital in Kathmandu. Her areas of interests include, quantitative research, supervision, performance management of TVET professionals and effective communication.

Aarogya Dahal

Aarogya Dahal is a graduate from Kathmandu University School of Education. He holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development. The title of his Master’s Thesis is Agony of Water: A Household Perspective in Urban Community: A Narrative Inquiry. He is currently working as a Research Assistant under the project Linking Education and Labor Market (LELAM), an undertaking of the Kathmandu University School of Education. The project is led by the ETH, Zurich and is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. While working with the project he will be particularly supporting in organization and management of an international conference on TVET which will be held on 15-16 September 2023, in Dhulikhel, Kathmandu. He will also be supporting to different research activities being carried out under the LELAM.
He is currently finalizing a paper titled: Change in Water Consumption Pattern in Urban Area and its Effects on Socio Cultural Values of Hiti (traditional water tap for drinking water).
He is a highly motivated and dedicated professional with experience in research, program management, and sales.
